Julien Baker and TORRES have made the significant decision to cancel their upcoming spring tour dates, emphasizing the importance of Baker focusing on her health and overall well-being during this challenging time.

The announcement regarding the cancellation of the tour was made public on Sunday (May 4) through social media channels, just hours prior to their planned performance at Stable Hall in San Antonio, TX. This sudden news has undoubtedly caught many fans by surprise.

In their official statement, they conveyed, “Due to recent events, Julien Baker is prioritizing her well-being and taking time to focus on her health.” The notice continued, “Therefore, the Julien Baker & TORRES ‘Send A Prayer My Way’ Tour has been canceled. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the disappointment this may cause for fans. We deeply appreciate your understanding.”

The tour, initially announced in early February, saw the duo preparing to embark on a series of performances throughout the U.S. and U.K. starting in March, with the official launch set for April 23 in Richmond, VA. Fans were eagerly anticipating this new musical journey.

Unfortunately, additional cancellations included performances at Ohio University and Tennessee’s Big Ears Festival. A social media update clarified that “one of our key members sustained a concussion and will need to take the next few weeks to recover.” Additionally, an upcoming performance at Iowa’s Mission Creek Festival was canceled due to an “unforeseen medical situation,” further impacting their tour plans.

At the time of the announcement, no further details regarding these incidents were provided, and currently, their official website lists an appearance at the Green River Festival in Massachusetts on June 20 as their next scheduled performance, which fans are looking forward to.

Baker and TORRES recently released their highly anticipated album, Send a Prayer My Way, on April 18, debuting impressively at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated May 3). The album also made significant strides by reaching the top 10 on both the Vinyl Albums and Indie Store Album Sales rankings, showcasing their growing popularity.

Their collaborative project has been in the works for several years, with roots tracing back to 2016 when Baker and TORRES first performed together. That night, the idea of creating a country album was casually mentioned, and now, nearly a decade later, it has finally come to fruition.

Baker has previously achieved remarkable success as a member of boygenius alongside renowned artists Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus.
