Meanwhile, Shailene Woodley is celebrating the significant achievement of another project: winning her first-ever Emmy for her role in season two of Paradise, as she received the award for Guest Actress in a Drama Series on September 6.
“When I was growing up as an actor, my mom created this idea of a ladder, where she said, ‘You got your first callback—that’s one ring on the ladder. Oh, you booked your first commercial? That’s another ring on the ladder,'” she shared with E!. “And this just feels like another ring on the ladder. I get to go home and have a conversation with my mama, where I’m like, ‘I got the Emmy. We can put that on the ladder now.’
Her mother Lori Woodley continues to play a significant role in her life, as she expressed, “I wouldn’t be here without her in every way. I’m just thrilled. I feel so fortunate. I love what I do, and I never take it for granted.”
Of course, her mother is incredibly proud of the Divergent actress for achieving various milestones.
“She currently has all of the trophies from when I was a soccer player as a child, like the Teen Choice Awards,” Woodley mentioned, adding about her Emmy, “but I think I might keep this one.”
