Shakira: I’m truly honored to perform alongside Madonna and BTS. This experience will be entirely different from the Super Bowl, which was incredible for me.
Hugh Evans: The vision for this began four years ago at the last World Cup when Chris suggested collaborating with FIFA to create the first halftime show for the World Cup final. Our focus was on unity, aiming to showcase a moment that reflects how people from all nations and backgrounds can come together for a greater cause, particularly children’s education. Shakira has dedicated her career to this cause, and at Global Citizen, we believe education is the most powerful tool for change.
With these values in mind, we considered which artists share this passion. Shakira has long shown her commitment to education and her love for football, making her an extraordinary co-headliner alongside Madonna, who also shares a passion for education, and BTS, who eagerly accepted the opportunity.
