Six Feet Under Series with Peter Krause Gets NBC Release Date

A new NBC drama described as two iconic TV shows having a baby just got its premiere date. The series draws from one executive producer’s real-life experience growing up under government protection.

Line of Fire sets NBC premiere date

NBC’s Line of Fire premieres Monday, September 21 at 10 p.m. ET. New episodes will be available to stream the following day on Peacock. The series, first announced in May 2026 alongside a broader slate of NBC shows, follows a family of law enforcement agents across multiple branches of protective services, including the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service, and Department of Justice.

Peter Krause stars in the show and has described it as both “a fantastic family-centered show” and “an action thriller.” The cast also includes Hope Davis, who plays his wife Jane, Kat Cunning as Clare, Tommy O’Brien as Mike “Micah” Hollingsworth Jr., Taylor Bloom as Russ, and Charlie Barnett.

According to Line of Fire’s official synopsis, the Hollingsworth family must bridge personal differences and cross professional boundaries after “a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy.” The central tension is that “they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code.”

Executive producer Jenna Bush Hager, who grew up with Secret Service protection during her father President George W. Bush’s time in office, developed the show’s premise from that lived experience. She described the tone as something like a mix of Scandal and Six Feet Under, but with a gripping mystery running throughout the entire first season.

Writer Josh Safran brings the family dynamics to life. “The good, the bad, the ugly, the funny, the sexy,” Krause noted of Safran’s approach. “It’s a very interesting, unusual show” (via Today).
