This new film seems to represent a more traditional return to the franchise’s roots, offering a classic cinematic experience that fans have been craving.
Importantly, Star Wars: Starfighter will serve as a legitimate sequel, taking place chronologically after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. According to an official release from Disney, the film is described as follows:

In previous reports, we learned that actress Mikey Madison declined a significant role in the film, which has sparked interest and speculation among fans regarding the casting choices.
Shawn Levy is no stranger to blockbuster success, having recently directed Deadpool & Wolverine, which became one of Marvel’s highest-grossing films in years.
