Acclaimed actress Lily James is set to star alongside the renowned Chris Hemsworth in the upcoming action-packed thriller Subversion. This film has been excitingly dubbed as a “Die Hard on a submarine,” hinting at a riveting blend of suspense and action.
The gripping storyline revolves around a once-promising naval commander, played by Hemsworth, who finds himself ensnared in a perilous situation. He is coerced by a ruthless cartel-like organization to pilot a treacherous submarine laden with illicit cargo across treacherous international waters. As he navigates through a dangerous game of cat and mouse, a determined Coast Guard officer portrayed by James is relentlessly on his trail. He must cleverly maneuver through blockades while confronting the myriad threats lurking both inside and outside the submarine. Directed by Patrick Vollrath and penned by Andrew Ferguson, Subversion is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura through his di Bonaventura Pictures production company, with filming set to commence in Australia this fall.
In her next project, Lily James will co-star with Riz Ahmed in the exciting thriller Relay, directed by David Mackenzie. This film made waves during its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year. In Relay, Ahmed plays a world-class fixer renowned for orchestrating lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals poised to expose their wrongdoing.
