According to THR, Chris Hemsworth is gearing up for an exciting role in the upcoming thriller Subversion, produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Directed by Patrick Vollrath and crafted from a gripping script by Andrew Ferguson, this project has been aptly described as a thrilling adventure reminiscent of “Die Hard on a submarine.” Personally, I can’t help but wonder what a film titled “Die Hard on an ice cream truck” would look like!
In this action-packed narrative, Hemsworth portrays a once-promising Naval commander who finds himself ensnared in a perilous situation. Blackmailed by a cartel-like organization, he is coerced into piloting a treacherous submarine laden with illegal cargo as it navigates the treacherous waters of international seas. Faced with a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, the commander must cleverly outmaneuver blockades and tackle numerous threats both within and outside the submarine, making for an intense storyline that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The film is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura through his di Bonaventura Pictures banner, with filming set to commence in Australia this fall.
In addition to his submarine thriller, Hemsworth is set to reprise his iconic role as Thor in the eagerly awaited Avengers: Doomsday. This highly anticipated Marvel project is currently in production and features a star-studded cast.
