Tension Tour: Kylie Minogue Delivers Hits in L.A.

Pop sensation Kylie Minogue concluded her highly anticipated first arena tour across the United States and Canada on Friday night, May 2, as her electrifying Tension Tour made a spectacular appearance at the iconic Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

“Good evening, Los Angeles! We are here!” the ever-charismatic performer declared to the enthusiastic crowd early in the evening. “Thank you so much, each and every one of you, for coming out tonight, and welcome to the Tension Tour.” Her warm and engaging welcome set the tone for an unforgettable night filled with music, dance, and memories.

The spectacular two-hour show took fans on a remarkable journey through Kylie Minogue’s extensive catalog, spanning four decades of her greatest hits. The concert also featured eight standout tracks from her latest studio albums, Tension II (released in 2024) and Tension (2023). Among these fan favorites was Tension’s Grammy Award-winning hit, “Padam Padam,” which not only captured hearts but also secured a spot in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in 2023. The show opened with the high-energy track “Lights, Camera, Action” from Tension II, setting an exhilarating pace for the evening.

The Tension Tour marks only the third major traveling show that Kylie Minogue has brought to the U.S. and Canada. Previously, she graced the continent with the Aphrodite Live tour in 2011 and the KYLIE tour in 2009, both of which were intimate performances compared to the grand arena-sized audiences of the Tension Tour. Besides her touring endeavors, Minogue also made her debut in Las Vegas with a remarkable residency in 2023-24, performing 20 shows at the cozy 1,000-seat venue, Voltaire, located in The Venetian Las Vegas.

Following this leg, Kylie and her team are set to continue their journey to Europe on May 16, followed by performances in South America starting August 7, and concluding with three final dates in Mexico from August 22-26. By the conclusion of the Tension Tour, Minogue will have performed nearly 70 shows across more than 25 countries on five continents, showcasing her incredible talent and dedication.

During the Los Angeles performance, Kylie Minogue took a poignant moment to reflect on her journey, stating, “Here we are in 2025, and I get to be on a world tour with these beautiful humans, beautiful intelligent humans — the ones you can see on the stage and off stage. And I get very emotional thinking about this, this… that I’ve… it’s been a lifetime, and sometimes it just amazes me. So very, very grateful. Thank you so much for being here.” Her heartfelt message resonated deeply with fans, highlighting the connection between the artist and her audience.

That “lifetime” of an extraordinary musical career was vividly showcased throughout the performance, as Kylie delivered a plethora of classic hits, including her debut single, the iconic 1987 rendition of “The Loco-Motion,” as well as timeless tracks like “Better the Devil You Know” (1990), “Spinning Around” (2000), which featured an appearance by the opening act Rita Ora, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” (2001), and “All the Lovers” (2010). Each song evoked nostalgia and joy in the audience, reaffirming her status as a pop music legend.
