The Boys Reveals the Story Fans Have Been Waiting For

May marked the end of an era for The Boys, as after seven years of action, the main show finally came to an end. Fans absolutely adored the first few seasons, and despite the latter installments being much more divisive, there is no doubt people will miss the bold superhero series, as will Prime Video.

However, despite season 5 concluding the central story, The Boys franchise will continue with new releases through numerous spinoff shows. The Boys: Mexico was announced several years ago, and despite development being slow on the project, it offers a chance to dive deeper into the lore and expand this universe into other countries.

The concept provides plenty of potential, proving The Boys has a healthy future. Likewise, some viewers are still holding out hope that Gen V will be greenlit for a third season despite its cancellation, or that The Boys Presents: Diabolical could return, but it’s Vought Rising that holds the most potential going forward.

Although Soldier Boy’s arc in the final season detracted a little from the main narrative, it did at least help set up Vought Rising and his backstory with Stormfront. The two are set to lead the upcoming spinoff, which will take place in the 1950s, giving us an insight into what Vought International looked like during its infancy.

Therefore, Vought Rising will usher in a new era for The Boys while treating audiences to the perfect next story. Exploring this superhero world before it became so commercialized will be fascinating, and learning the origins of Vought’s corruption and how it created so many supes is something almost every fan of The Boys will want to see.

Vought Pre-Homelander Is A Fascinating Twist On The Boys’ Premise

Homelander standing in Vought Tower in The Boys season 5

Ever since The Boys adaptation arrived on Prime Video, Homelander has been front and center of the conflict. He was the main villain throughout all five seasons, up until Butcher killed him, providing a satisfying ending to Homelander’s reign in The Boys. However, it’s the first time the televised universe has been without him.

He was briefly involved in Gen V‘s first season, and even when he wasn’t on-screen, his presence could be felt. Likewise, he appeared in The Boys Presents: Diabolical, making Vought Rising‘s premise a breath of fresh air. Still, despite Homelander being the franchise’s main villain, he was always the result of a much bigger problem — Vought.

This company is responsible for creating him and giving the antagonist a terrible upbringing, hence why he lacked love or empathy. They also corrupted various other supes and killed those that didn’t fall in line, confirming that they have always been the real antagonist, a fact Vought Rising will likely confirm.

As a result, learning about Soldier Boy’s life before Vought and how the company changed him should be extremely entertaining. Equally, witnessing former supes in their heyday will also be plenty of fun. We already know what became of Vought in the modern day, but their background is still relatively mysterious.

This cements Vought Rising‘s plot as the perfect project to follow The Boys‘ conclusion, as audiences will naturally be curious about what the organization was like during its early days without Homelander around, and if the trailer is anything to go by, it may be even crazier than most would expect.

Stormfront’s Backstory Has Been Building Since The Boys Season 2

Aya Cash’s Clara Vought/Stormfront/Liberty smiling in Vought Rising’s trailer

A big part of Vought’s early stages will be Clara Vought, AKA Stormfront. Back in the 50s, she went by Liberty and was one of Vought’s primary heroes, despite having far more sinister beliefs underneath her public facade. She was married to the organization’s founder and was a follower of Nazism, even in the 21st century.

Her extreme views even made Homelander uncomfortable, which isn’t easily achieved, adding to why she’s such a hateable villain. When she was first introduced in season 2, it seemed like she could actually be a strong addition to the Seven until more and more about her history was revealed, confirming her importance to the franchise’s history.

Her ties to Nazi Germany and Vought’s foundations made her background particularly interesting early on, and season 5 only expanded this by revealing she was very close to Soldier Boy. Thankfully, the spinoff will finally dive into her past by paying off many of these aspects that were built up in the main series.

Vought Rising‘s trailer even showed Stormfront’s different accent back in the 50s, indicating that she had to undergo a lot of changes to reintegrate into American society, despite never switching her beliefs. No doubt we’ll learn all about her original plan alongside how big a part she played in WWII and the aftermath.

Hopefully, Vought Rising can answer any mysteries left about this sadistic villain while adding more depth to her character. Considering details about Stormfront’s background have been present for so long, you’d have to assume she’ll be just as detestable in The Boys‘ 2027 release.
