The Last Airbender 4K UHD and Blu-ray Release Date Announced

Paramount+ and Alliance Home Entertainment have officially announced the physical home video release dates for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. Following its premiere on Paramount+ on July 25, 2026, the animated feature is expanding beyond digital streaming.

The epic saga will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on November 3, 2026, followed by a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook release on February 9, 2027, with pre-orders currently live on Amazon.

This move comes after Paramount scrapped the theatrical release of the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie, which was slated to hit theaters this October. The studio skipped the theatrical release after David Ellison took over and after a recent SpongeBob SquarePants movie underperformed at the box office.

Moreover, prior to its release, in April 2026, the entire full-length movie was leaked on social media. Initially, the leaker claimed that Nickelodeon accidentally emailed them the movie. However, it was later confirmed that he suspected he had accessed the media server and illegally downloaded the files.

After the entire movie got leaked, Paramount released the animated film on the Paramount+ streaming service months ahead of its initial release date. Due to budgeting reasons, the early release of the movie outraged fans who were eager for its theatrical run.

What is Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender about?

According to the film’s official synopsis, “Avatar Aang, the world’s last Airbender, is all grown up. He learns of an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction. With the help of his friends, the Last Airbender embarks on a global quest to find it before it falls into the wrong hands and upends the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve.”
