The Witcher has an audience well beyond anyone keeping up with its Netflix adaptation. Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy world gives fans plenty of ways to follow Geralt of Rivia, and for players, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt remains a particularly tempting invitation. Its monster contracts, dangerous bargains, and sprawling adventure can easily turn plans for a short gaming session into an entire evening on the Continent. Eleven years after its original release, Geralt’s search for Ciri still has considerable drawing power.
CD Projekt Red gave that adventure another refresh on September 29, releasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered with improvements to combat, character progression, visuals, and performance. The update also includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, giving players access to both expansions even if they previously owned only the base game. Existing owners on supported platforms receive the upgrade for free, making a return to Geralt’s world an especially easy decision. And the latest Steam numbers show just how many players have accepted that invitation.
The Witcher 3 reached a new all-time peak of 137,724 simultaneous Steam players on October 4, according to SteamDB. The surge followed the remaster’s launch, with the tracker recording a further 24-hour peak of 91,997 players when checked on October 7. SteamDB also placed the game at No. 12 for daily active users, demonstrating continued activity after its record-setting weekend. These are Steam figures alone, so they don’t include Geralt’s audience on consoles or other PC storefronts.

You belong in the North, where the weather does most of the
