The funeral and celebration of life service for Bonnie Tyler took place on Monday (Aug. 17) in Swansea, Wales.
According to The Guardian, crowds of fans gathered to bid their final farewell to the beloved singer.
“As the white coffin, adorned with bouquets of white roses, was carried into the minster, shouts of ‘God bless you Bonnie’ and ‘bye Bonnie’ broke the silence,” the outlet reported. “Those present to pay their respects erupted into applause.”

The heartfelt event celebrated Tyler’s life and legacy, featuring a moving choral performance of her iconic hit, “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Footage of this rendition can be viewed below.

Tyler passed away on July 8 at the age of 75. The renowned singer, famous for her unique husky voice, was behind hits like “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Here She Comes,” and “If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man).”

Nevertheless, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” remains her most acclaimed song. The classic 1983 power ballad was written by Jim Steinman, who is best known for his work with Meat Loaf.
“He mentioned that he had begun writing the song for a potential musical adaptation of Nosferatu years earlier but never completed it,” Tyler recalled in a 2023 interview. “I poured my heart out singing it.”
“Total Eclipse of the Heart” became Tyler’s only No. 1 single in the U.S., earning her a Grammy nomination and selling over 13 million copies worldwide.
