“When you read falsehoods about yourself that are meant to fuel an obvious situation, it’s challenging,” Cooper stated. “However, I believe my success in this industry stems from having very thick skin, and I will continue to move forward.”
Cooper, 31, and Kaplan, 42—who are expecting a baby together—initially established the Unwell Network in August 2023 as a production company targeting Gen Z audiences. The network was a subsidiary of their media company Trending, which also encompassed Cooper’s other business endeavors, along with ACE Entertainment, Kaplan’s production company responsible for the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise.
The reports of turmoil within Unwell surfaced following tensions with Alix Earle, who previously hosted her podcast Hot Mess on the network.
Earle, 25, had claimed to WSJ Magazine in May of that year that her departure from the company in March 2025 was due to “a little bit of a hot mess” behind the scenes.
