When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement with a simple Instagram post in August 2025, it broke the internet.
In the time since, the superstar couple continued to turn heads. Swift released her 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 album, The Life of a Showgirl, that October — moving a record-breaking 4 million equivalent album units in its first week — while Kelce signed on for his 14th season with the Kansas City Chiefs the following April.
Members of the Tayvis camp also kept what they may or may not have known about the couple’s plans mostly quiet. Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, straight up refused to speak about her potential involvement with the wedding planning when approached by a photographer at LAX. “I’m just happy. I’m so happy for them,” Donna said at the time.
Swift’s sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce (who’s married to Trav’s big brother, Jason) even made a plea on her Not Gonna Lie podcast in April for people to stop asking her for wedding dirt. “Quit asking me and my mother-in-law about upcoming nuptials,” she said point-blank to the camera. “Nobody’s f–king telling you anything.” She added: “I don’t have any details. I have no details. I have none. Look at that. That’s how many details I have. None. None.”
But while Donna and Kylie stayed hush-hush before the big day, a few people close to the duo — as well as Swift and Kelce themselves — shared bits and pieces here and there about the nuptials that took place July 3 at Madison Square Garden.
Here is everything we know (so far) about the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding.

-
The date and location
Following weeks of reports that the Tayvis wedding would take place at some point over Fourth of July weekend in New York City, a law enforcement official confirmed to the Associated Press that the couple’s nuptials were scheduled for the night of Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden. The official also revealed that a rehearsal dinner was planned for the night prior.
The news aligned with what Kelce had previously said on a January 2025 episode of New Heights — months before he and Swift got engaged — while sharing his thoughts on fall weddings, which conflict with football season.
“I actually don’t know people who have gotten married in the fall,” the Chiefs star said. “All the weddings I’ve been to, and all my friends do it in the summer.”
Fans had also previously concluded that, if the couple wanted a summer wedding in 2026, they’d likely have to schedule it for some point in the first chunk of July. That was because Kelce had already announced in March that he would be returning to the Chiefs for a 14th season, in part motivated by his fiancee’s work ethic and passion for what she does. Then, ESPN’s Nate Taylor said that Kelce “plans to marry [Swift] before training camp,” which begins on July 22 — meaning the duo only had so much time to plan a wedding that didn’t conflict with Kelce’s football schedule.

The schedule
The Associated Press reported on July 2, a day before the wedding, that it had obtained a city permit that showed Swift and Kelce had permission to exchange vows at Madison Square Garden. It showed a 5 p.m. ET start time, with the document indicating that the event could last until 4 a.m. the next morning.
Thursday would feature a “pre-party” celebration with 100 guests kicking off at 6:30 p.m. ET, the permit also revealed, with officials telling the AP that it would be the rehearsal dinner.

The guest list will be long
In an October 2025 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Swift joked that Norton “will know” after the host asked if the wedding will be happening in 2026. Swift went on to clarify that she meant she’ll be inviting Norton to the big event — as well as everyone she’s ever hung out with.
“I know it’s going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are those where you have a small amount of guests and people are on the bubble,” Swift explained. “And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not going to do that.”
Since she continued, “Anyone I’ve ever talked to.”

The privacy precautions
One way Swift and Kelce had been able to keep details about their big day under wraps — before it was confirmed that the location would be MSG — was by waiting until just before their wedding date to tell guests where exactly it would be aside from somewhere in New York City. After confirming their attendance, George and Claire Kittle were asked by Entertainment Tonight whether their occasion was actually scheduled for MSG; however, they said they couldn’t confirm it even if they wanted to.
“We don’t know,” Claire said while George added: “I actually asked Travis last night, and he laughed at me. I’m half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on a runway and they put us on a plane somewhere.”
It also appears guests received custom watermarked invitations allowing Swift and Kelce to trace each one back to its original recipient so as to avoid leaked information.

What guests aren’t allowed to bring
As revealed by George Kittle — Kelce’s Tight End University cofounder — Swift and Kelce established rules regarding something guests aren’t allowed to bring.
“They said absolutely no gifts,” noted Kittle in June while telling ExtraTV , adding he might still get his fellow NFL star something special for their big day: “Travis for some reason likes old coins so I might get him an old coin.”

“Are you gonna do DJ or band? Are you thinking about all this stuff?” Fallon asked.
Kelce responded saying “Yeah I think we’re live music kind of people you know?”
Though he most likely won’t be only entertainer of night; in October Hits Radio interview Swift alluded her close friend Ed Sheeran might hit stage during her wedding festivities.
“It’s like ‘Ed if there’s stage you know you’ll be on it,’” Swift said adding he knows what people want and wants give people what they want.
The couple also has an offer from Foreigner who volunteered play their wedding in open letter.
