Xbox Game Pass Offers 2025’s Top Game Free on July 2

Heavy is the head that wears the Xbox Game Pass crown. Right now, Xbox is navigating its future, especially with the recent announcement of numerous new titles for their Summer Game Fest (SGF) 2026 showcase, although some first-party studios are reportedly facing challenges.

This comes alongside a recontextualization of Xbox Game Pass pricing and offerings, with the upcoming Project Helix set to arrive soon, ushering Microsoft into the next generation. There’s a lot up in the air at the moment, but exciting content is coming to Xbox Game Pass that you can enjoy shortly.

One of 2025’s best games will be available for free on July 2, and you won’t want to miss it.

As of July 2, you can play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on PC, console, and cloud devices via Xbox Game Pass. Originally released in mid-2025 on PC, PS4/PS5, Switch 1/2, and Xbox Series X/S, this prolific series returns with a remake of the third and fourth mainline iterations of the iconic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series, following 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 revamp.

There’s no other way to say it: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is a significant addition for Xbox Game Pass. Not only is it a faithful recreation of Tony Hawk 3, but it also reimagines Tony Hawk 4‘s career mode in a more streamlined way, making it an excellent entry for quick play in the Game Pass catalog. Although the revamp of Tony Hawk 4 has sparked some controversy, the new format fits well within the revival package.

Additionally, it’s simple enough to jump in for multiplayer sessions. Iron Galaxy did an outstanding job reviving these classic games, especially since Tony Hawk 3 is considered one of the best in the series. It features an impressive level selection and a wealth of secret content and unlockables, thankfully free from excessive paid DLC compared to some other titles under the Activision banner.

Guest characters include the Doom Guy and the Revenant enemy from Doom, Michaelangelo from TMNT, Jack Black as Officer Dick, and Bam Margera.

I’ve already achieved 100% completion with several skaters but still return occasionally to aim for higher scores or enjoy some of the new levels added to the 3+4 package. It’s remarkable that this series is still thriving since its debut back in 1999.

We’re approaching the 30th anniversary of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and you can celebrate early on Xbox Game Pass this July. If you haven’t played this series in years, now is an excellent time to revisit and see what modern developers have been creating.
