Since the early 1990s, Peter Krause has been a constant presence on television. With iconic roles in shows like Sports Night, Six Feet Under, and Parenthood, the actor is one of television’s most recognizable stars. However, one of his most popular roles was on the ABC first-responder procedural 9-1-1. Krause played Bobby Nash in the hit thriller for eight seasons before his character was killed off. Bobby met an emotional death in Episode 15, “Lab Rats,” of Season 8, when the team responded to a lab accident that claimed his life.
9-1-1 fans have been waiting for Krause to return, but there is some bad news. It doesn’t seem like Krause is returning, at least not in the capacity fans had gotten used to. The good news is that Krause will be back on TV this fall, just on a different network and with a different family. The actor leads an ensemble in NBC’s upcoming drama, Line of Fire, which premieres later this month.
Family businesses have been part of society for as long as humanity has existed. Some families were blacksmiths, others ran liquor businesses, and some made a fortune in the media. Meet the Hollingsworths, a family purely made up of law enforcement officers in different government agencies. Krause plays Mike, a father of three children — Russ (Taylor Bloom), Clare (Kat Cunning), and Micah (Tommy O’Brien). Hope Davis plays Jane, the children’s mother who, like everyone, works in law enforcement. Charlie Barnett also stars. Line of Fire premieres next week on September 21.
What Is ‘Line of Fire’ About?
The Hollingsworth clan is spread out across the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, and the Department of Justice. Dinners and family gatherings must be interesting because this family has an inside line to major U.S. agencies. These demanding jobs have strained their relationships, but they must bridge their differences when a huge threat arises. The Hollingsworths find themselves in the middle of a deadly conspiracy that forces them to reevaluate their convictions. They must use the expertise they have from protecting civilians and politicians to protect themselves and each other to bring a killer to justice, even if it means betraying their sworn code. Joshua Safran, known for creating the Priyanka Chopra Jonas-led thriller Quantico, created and wrote Line of Fire.
The series premieres on NBC on Monday, September 21, at 10 pm and will stream on Peacock the following day. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
