When does Adults Season 2 premiere, and who’s joining the cast?
FX has confirmed the Adults Season 2 release date as Thursday, August 27. According to Deadline, the new season will debut on FXX and Hulu beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. International audiences will also be able to stream the series on Disney+.
The upcoming season will consist of eight episodes. While Hulu subscribers will have access to all eight episodes at launch, FXX will follow a weekly release schedule, premiering two episodes each week. This approach provides viewers with multiple viewing options while keeping the series in weekly circulation.
The Adults Season 2 cast is also expanding with several notable guest stars. Among the most prominent additions is Gaten Matarazzo, best known for playing Dustin Henderson in Stranger Things. Joining him are Susie Essman, Raven-Symoné, Jake Shane, Isaac Powell, Ben Marshall, Zosia Mamet, and several other guest performers.
Speaking about Gaten Matarazzo’s role, co-creator Ben Kronengold teased that audiences will see the actor in an unexpected role. Matarazzo will portray the younger person who inherited Samir’s fake ID. The storyline explores aging, identity, and the realization that someone younger may suddenly appear more confident or accomplished than you once felt (via Teen Vogue).
The Adults Season 2 cast will once again center on Samir (Malik Elassal), Billie (Lucy Freyer), Paul Baker (Jack Innanen), Issa (Amita Rao), and Anton (Owen Thiele).
