Travis Barker Details How Falling in Love With Kourtney Kardashian Helped Heal Past Trauma
Travis Barker reflects on the significant moments of this challenging chapter.
Nearly two decades after the Blink-182 drummer and DJ AM survived a plane crash that claimed the lives of the other four individuals aboard, he revealed he almost opted out of the flight to spend more time with his and Shanna Moakler‘s children Atiana De La Hoya, 27, Landon Barker, 22, and Alabama Barker, 20.
“I’d said to my manager, ‘Is it too late to just pull out? I don’t really need to do this,'” Barker recounted on the Aug. 10 episode of the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast. “I was just so content with being home with the kiddos, and he’s like, ‘Bro, you can’t cancel this late.’ So, I ended up flying out there.”
And at that moment, their youngest, who was then 2, said something he will always remember.
“I say bye to Bama. She’s young at the time,” he continued. “She’s like, ‘Dad, don’t go!’ She’s crying and she doesn’t usually do that. She’s like, ‘The roof’s gonna come off,’ and I’m like, ‘What is she talking about?'”
