Bass Pro Shops Trip with Dave Grohl and Queens of the Stone Age

Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age has discovered a unique way to add excitement while touring with the Foo Fighters this summer.

He has now involved Dave Grohl in this adventure.

Why Is Queens of the Stone Age Posting Bass Pro Shop Videos?

In May, videos began appearing on the Queens of the Stone Age social media accounts featuring Homme taking the band’s drummer, Jon Theodore, to a Bass Pro Shops store for his first visit.

For those unfamiliar, Bass Pro Shops caters to outdoor enthusiasts, particularly those interested in hunting and fishing. The interior of the brand’s Outdoor World store format is notably decorated with taxidermied animals.

This decor can be quite surprising for newcomers, as was the case with Theodore.

“Look at all of these carcasses,” the drummer exclaims upon entering the store. Homme, however, seems quite at ease as he plays cameraman and narrator throughout the amusing video.

The following day, they shared a follow-up video showcasing their Bass Pro Shops “haul,” which included bear spray for Homme and a new fishing rod and reel for Theodore.

The videos clearly indicate that this excursion was Homme’s idea during the band’s Catacombs Tour this past spring. Homme’s tradition of visiting Bass Pro Shops with first-timers is now making a comeback.

Dave Grohl Visits Bass Pro Shops With Josh Homme

Queens of the Stone Age are currently touring across the U.S. alongside the Foo Fighters for the Take Cover Tour. Recently, the tour has traveled through the Midwest.

This tour has also allowed Homme to resume his Bass Pro Shops video series, featuring Theodore finally trying out his fishing pole from the previous tour. His latest video includes Grohl making his first-ever trip to the outdoor store.

“It’s kind of like Disneyland, what do you think?” Homme asks Grohl, who responds with stunned silence.

At one point, Grohl passes by an employee who seems unaware of his identity.

“Hey, how you doing?” he politely greets her. The woman quickly replies and continues on her way.

The duo ends up shopping for hats resembling alligator heads, a pair of fish-shaped flip-flops, and a Bluetooth speaker that Grohl proudly carries to the checkout.

The Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age will be on tour until September. Hopefully, they will find time for more visits to Bass Pro Shops.
