Ben Affleck’s Co-Parenting: Jennifer Garner’s Insights Eight Years Post-Divorce

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck divorced eight years ago but still share one important responsibility. The former couple kept much of their family life private while focusing on raising their three children together after their separation. However, Garner recently offered a rare glimpse into how that partnership has evolved and why it works for their family in the present day.

Jennifer Garner discusses co-parenting with Ben Affleck after divorce

Garner and Affleck announced their separation in 2015 after 10 years of marriage. They finalized their divorce in 2018, but remained committed to their three children. Garner discussed balancing motherhood with her acting career in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She praised Affleck for being responsible towards their family and said their co-parenting relationship has become stronger over time. This allows both parents to support their children while managing busy life schedules.

“My kids are a little bigger [now],” Garner said. She also added that her “ex-husband has become this incredible co-parent,” explaining that their children can now comfortably stay with him whenever she travels for longer periods for her profession.

Garner said things were very different when Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel were younger. She rarely accepted long work trips unless her children could travel with her back then. Now, as they are older and in high school, that is no longer required.

“They can stay with their dad. He’s wonderful. He takes care of them. He’s a great partner in that way. And that’s very freeing,” she added.

The actress also talked about the years she dedicated to raising the family. “There is a time in your life where you do get caught in all of that. And that’s okay,” Garner said. “That’s a season. And it’s a beautiful thing. I wouldn’t trade a minute of it.”
