Best Anime Ranked by Rotten Tomatoes

Rotten Tomatoes is recognized for being the largest review aggregator, which has earned it both a good and a bad reputation. While it’s beneficial to have a platform that allows users to easily gauge the quality of a show or movie, like many review aggregators, Rotten Tomatoes is not immune to ratings being artificially inflated or deflated due to biases. Because of its prominence, Rotten Tomatoes often becomes a target for those wishing to discredit critics in general.

Despite its flaws, Rotten Tomatoes is an excellent site for assessing quality, and anime is no exception. Anime often lacks professional reviews from critics, making Rotten Tomatoes valuable for cataloging the few professional reviews available, and for those anime with perfect scores on the site, their ratings carry even more weight.

Orange’s Trigun Stampede serves as both a prequel and reimagining of the legendary Trigun anime franchise. In this version, a younger Vash the Stampede traverses the planet of No Man’s Land, attempting to do good while evading bounty hunters and reporters eager to uncover his story. However, despite Vash’s efforts to escape his past, it inevitably catches up with him.

There was considerable apprehension regarding the revival of Trigun in such an unconventional manner, but thanks to its stunning 3D visuals and effective modernization of the original narrative, Trigun Stampede turned out to be an unexpectedly enjoyable experience for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. The sequel series, Trigun Stargaze, received mixed reactions from fans, but at least Stampede remains a standout anime worth watching.
