i-D Magazine no longer commands the attention it once did, particularly on theFashionSpot. The title, owned by Bedford Media, is now under the direction of Steff Yotka. In September, for his final issue as editor, Thom Bettridge welcomed Gisele Bündchen back as a cover girl for the Fall 2026 issue. Yotka brings back none other than Beyoncé for a special edition zine for October. Twenty years later, the American singer and billionaire businesswoman poses for photographer Blair Caldwell. Against a grey studio backdrop, the 35-time Grammy Award-winning artist is styled by cover shoot stylist (and long-time collaborator) Shiona Turini.
Beyoncé on the Cover of i-D Magazine October 2026

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Since I realized this cover was intended to promote her hair brand, I think a close-up featuring an afro hairstyle would have been more effective. As for her right leg, the Photoshop work done on it looks really awkward,” pointed out DK92 upon checking out the cover.
“Agreed that they should have gone for a tight portrait. It’s an okay image. It’s just a pity that someone so influential and with such star power isn’t willing to explore more when it comes to her own representation in the media. She’s a beautiful woman and very charismatic, yet she more often than not presents herself in the most boring and expected way,” Thefrenchy chimed in.
Also not impressed was vogue28. “Awful, but then again, I’ve never been able to understand the hype surrounding Beyoncé. The cover image itself isn’t horrendous, but I’ve seen better from both i-D Magazine (a long time ago) and Beyoncé. The covers with B from August 2006 by Matt Jones remain undefeated!” they declared.
“It’s a good cover!” defended Lola701. “She looks good and surprisingly even if she is quite a presence on the internet, she doesn’t feel overexposed.”
