Post Malone has postponed the initial phase of his Big Ass Stadium Tour with Jelly Roll, canceling the first several dates as he works to finalize his upcoming album.
In a message shared with fans, Malone stated that the decision came after reevaluating the timeline between his live performances and recording commitments.
“Considering the upcoming schedule… I realized that what we’re trying to achieve and what’s feasible isn’t really aligning,” he wrote, adding that he required more time to complete new music.
“The truth is, I promised you wonderful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before the tour starts. We aren’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the choice to delay the tour by about three weeks to get this music done.”
The postponement impacts the first six dates of the Live Nation-produced tour, which was set to begin on May 13 in El Paso, Texas, with additional stops in Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa, and Oxford, Mississippi. The tour is now anticipated to commence on June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina, following a roughly three-week delay.
The artist has been teasing a new project, reportedly titled The Eternal Buzz, although no release date has been confirmed. He indicated that the album remains incomplete, despite earlier speculation that it was nearing completion.
“That said, I’m truly sorry to those who were planning on attending the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to having an amazing time with you all. That being said, we have been creating some incredible music for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for you all again.”
The delay occurs as Malone seeks to follow up on a period of sustained commercial success. His 2023 album Austin debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200, while earlier releases such as Hollywood’s Bleeding produced multiple chart-topping singles, including “Circles,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Big Ass Stadium Tour signifies a continuation of Malone’s recent shift toward country and roots-influenced sounds, a direction that has expanded his audience in recent years. His collaboration with Jelly Roll — whose own rise has been fueled by a blend of country, rock, and hip-hop — reflects that crossover appeal.
His most recent album, F-1 Trillion, included the Country Airplay No. 1 “Pour Me a Drink” and the Billboard Hot 100-topping “I Had Some Help.” He has since teased a follow-up country project, telling Billboard last year that more music was in development and more recently hinting at a possible title — The Eternal Buzz — on social media.
