Rebel Announces Terminal ALS Diagnosis in AEW & TNA Wrestling

All Elite Wrestling and TNA wrestling star Rebel has shared some unfortunate news, revealing that she has been diagnosed with ALS in a recent post.

What did Rebel say about her diagnosis?

Rebel (real name Tanea Brooks) confirmed the news in an Instagram post. In a lengthy explanation, Brooks thanked fans for their prayers over the past two years as she underwent a “medical journey” to try and figure out what was wrong. Ultimately, Brooks revealed that doctors had diagnosed her with terminal ALS.

“And so, while I was waiting to have lung surgery for the masses on my lungs, the doctors at Mayo found, finally found, what’s going on. The doctors have diagnosed me with terminal ALS,” said Brooks. “There is not a lot of research behind ALS, and we don’t know how long I have, but it explains why I have trouble walking and talking, and all my functions will soon decline. But now we can prepare for the future and what is to come.”

Brooks went on to thank AEW and Tony Khan for their support on her journey, and once again thanked fans for their prayers, asking for more as she continues on what she hopes will be a “peaceful journey and a peaceful passing.”

Brooks had been absent from the world of wrestling for over two years, and last year revealed that she had been undergoing various medical issues, including a lung cancer diagnosis. She also mentioned struggling with some sort of then-un-diagnosed neurological issue that was impeding her ability to speak, walk, and use one of her hands.
