BTS Will Reunite ‘Quickly,’ Says J-Hope After Military Service

The members of BTS are just as excited to reconvene after their hiatus as their devoted fanbase, ARMY, is to witness this highly anticipated reunion, as expressed by J-Hope.

In a recent clip from his forthcoming interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, which Teen Vogue showcased on Monday (April 28), the acclaimed artist, known for his hit “Chicken Noodle Soup,” offered an enlightening update regarding the future of the boy band. He specifically addressed the imminent return of RM, Suga, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook as they approach the end of their required service in the South Korean military. “I eagerly anticipate June when our members will have completed their service,” J-Hope stated, according to a close-captioned translation.

The talented star further elaborated that the much-awaited reunion of the septet will happen swiftly once the last five members finish their enlistments. “We will quickly reconvene and discuss the exciting possibilities for BTS moving forward,” he shared with Zane Lowe. “I think it’s going to generate a tremendous surge of energy.”

This insightful interview comes a little over six months after J-Hope became the second member of BTS to be discharged from the military, following Jin. The globally acclaimed band has been on a break for approximately two years as each member fulfills their mandatory military obligations, during which all seven members have released impressive solo projects.

“I believe that over time, we’ve each cultivated our distinctive identities while working on our individual music projects, releasing solo works, and pursuing our personal endeavors,” J-Hope noted during the Apple Music 1 interview. “The interesting aspect for me is witnessing how our unique identities, which have evolved in diverse ways, ultimately come together as BTS.”

He expressed curiosity about how their future reunion will manifest: “I’m intrigued to see what it will look like.”

On his part, J-Hope has released a variety of solo music since he began his military service in February 2023. In March of that year, he released the single “On the Street” featuring J. Cole, and about a year later, he unveiled the EP HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1, which impressively reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200.

The last album released by BTS was in 2020, with Be achieving the remarkable feat of reaching No. 1 on the albums chart. This album features the chart-topping sensation “Dynamite,” which dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks.
