Carrot Top Released From Hospital Following Suicide Attempt

Carrot Top is no longer receiving treatment at a hospital.

A week after the comedian (real name Scott Thompson) was hospitalized in Las Vegas following a suicide attempt, his representative confirmed to NBC News on September 26 that he has been released from the hospital.

Further details regarding his condition were not provided, according to the outlet.

Carrot Top—who has hosted a residency in Las Vegas for more than 20 years—began receiving treatment on September 18, with his representative sharing an update two days later.

“Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care,” the representative said in a statement to TMZ on September 20. “He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him.”

According to the representative, at that time, Carrot Top had been joking around with the “medical staff caring for him” and was enjoying reading the supportive messages from fans, along with “stories from people about how his comedy helped them through difficult periods in their own lives.”
