Inspired by Celine Dion’s legendary 1997 Academy Awards look, the fitted silhouette featured a dramatic plunging neckline and a thigh-high front slit. Sparkling silver embellishments covered the dress before softly blending into a deep navy ombré finish. Delicate feather-like trims framed the neckline, while the floor-length design shimmered under the stage lights during her emotional performance.

The singer paired the custom gown with Chanel’s High Jewellery COMÈTE necklace. The striking piece paid tribute to the necklace Dion famously wore to the 1997 Academy Awards. According to Vogue, the recreated COMÈTE necklace draws inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel’s 1932 Bijoux de Diamants collection.

Artisans crafted the magnificent high-jewelry piece using platinum and 18-karat white gold. It features more than 1,080 diamonds totaling over 67 carats. Its asymmetrical shooting-star design rests elegantly across Dion’s collarbone, complementing the gown’s plunging neckline.

Dion completed the ensemble with classic black satin pointed-toe pumps created by Massaro, one of Chanel’s renowned Maisons d’art. The understated heels balanced the dramatic sparkle of the gown and jewelry without drawing attention away from the statement necklace.
