Colin Farrell on the impression that Tom Cruise left on him

Colin Farrell, who featured with Tom Cruise in Steven Spielberg’s 2002 classic, Minority Report, recently opened up about the experience of working with the veteran Hollywood legend on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Farrell started discussing Spielberg after Kimmel showed the audience a picture of Farrell and Cruise posing together, alongside Dakota Fanning, at the premiere of Disclosure Day. The Top Gun star could be seen holding a popcorn bucket shaped like Spielberg’s head.

Kimmel asked if Cruise actually ate out of “this thing.” To which, Farrell remarked, “He did,” asserting how the latter was a big fan of popcorn.

The host proceeded to ask how Farrell knew Tom Cruise. The Penguin actor recalled that he and Cruise did Minority Report together years ago, drawing huge applause from the live audience. “Did he make a big impression on you?” Kimmel followed up.

“Oh yeah, he’s an animal,” Farrell responded. “What an engine that man has…he’s such an impressive human being. I mean, he’s an extraordinary actor,” he further added.

Farrell went on to recall how he had a friend years ago who had only seen Cruise in Mission: Impossible, and he was forced to show this friend the range that Cruise actually possesses.

The 50-year-old also added that Cruise was “healthily competitive” when it came to working with him, which made him a great co-actor as well.

Cruise and Farrell’s Minority Report remains one of the most popular films from the legendary Steven Spielberg. The director’s new film, Disclosure Day, is now playing in theaters.
