Nick Cannon Reveals “Double Standard” Dating Rules for His, Mariah Carey’s Twins Monroe & Moroccan
Nick Cannon isn’t allowing his daughter to have unrestricted dating freedom.
In fact, the Wild ‘n Out star—who shares 15-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey—admitted he does not provide his daughter with the same level of freedom regarding dating as he does for his son.
“My son has been dating,” Nick, 45, said of Moroccan on the May 2 episode of The TMZ Podcast, “and I’ve allowed it, I encouraged it.”
When asked if he gives his daughter Monroe the same treatment, the comedian bluntly replied, “No, absolutely not.”
“First of all, it’s absolutely a double standard,” Nick admitted, “and I know I get in trouble a lot ’cause I say things with my chest. But there is a difference when parenting a son and then when parenting a daughter.”
Nick—who is also father to 10 younger children with five different women—reinforced his point, adding, “I am more protective of my daughter because there [are] things out there that I have to protect my daughter from. As we know, there’s certain types of individuals that you want to keep your daughter away from.”
