Dragon Ball has endured in a way that most anime and manga will never hit. Despite its humble beginnings in 1984, it eventually evolved into Dragon Ball Z in 1989, and the rest is history. From there, we’ve seen countless movies, OVAs, and TV shows that continue the legend of Goku and his friends.
It’s also soared in the video game arena. Starting off with some games on classic systems, Dragon Ball eventually gained traction with some Super Nintendo iterations before its popularity exploded even further with a series of PlayStation games. Now, we’re on our third XenoVerse title.
Thanks to a new report from Inven Global, we know that a demo is coming for Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3 very soon. Considering that it’s due out in 2027, any playable version of the game is a win.
Announced by Bandai Namco Entertainment Korea, Dragon Ball XenoVerse 3 will have an official demo at Fun Expo 2026 atCOEX (a play on “convention” and “exhibit”) in Seoul, South Korea. The convention runs from July 30 through August 2, so you still have some time to look into it if you’re in the region.
Interestingly, XenoVerse 3 isn’t the only game that’s making an appearance at Fun Expo. Attendees will also be able to try out Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which is making a rare public appearance (it is typically only demoed at conventions). Other inclusions are Gundam toy lines, Tamagotchi, the Dragon Ball anime, and the One Piece/Gundam card games.
Toys are a major focus at the Fun Expo, and there are sure to be plenty of Dragon Ball figures showcased. In fact, Dragon Ball seems to be one of the show’s headliners, with representation across multiple entertainment arenas.
Considering Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 wasn’t even playable at Summer Game Fest (SGF) for the press, this is one of the first opportunities anyone will get the chance to publicly play the game. Even if you aren’t able to attend, you can still check out video, impressions, and screenshots from the demo, as Bandai Namco uses the feedback to shape the course of the game.
Bandai Namco should heed that feedback, too. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has a rich history, having been released in 2016 and receiving its last major update in mid-2026. It has a huge legacy behind it, and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is going to be the next one to pick up the baton.
