Vogue China no longer holds the same prestige it once did. The publication has not been the same since Margaret Zhang left and Rocco Liu took over as head of editorial content. As of mid-2026, only covers featuring Sarah Snook and Nicole Kidman have captured significant attention. The upcoming cover of Vogue China features Eileen Gu, who will grace the June 2026 edition of the magazine. The Chinese-American freestyle skier is showcased on two covers, photographed by Nick Yang. In the first cover (below), the decorated Olympic gold medalist wears Celine and a tiara from the luxury Parisian jewelry brand Chaumet. Gu is seen with the same tiara on the second cover (after the jump) along with a look from Samuel Guì Yang.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“Why did they have to put on the tiara?” immediately asked Rigida upon checking out the covers.
“$$$” responded forum member Kimy Jo.
“I don’t necessarily dislike the [first] cover shot. I like the composition, the pose, and the cropping. However, that styling is diabolical. I’m aware that product placement exists to keep these magazines afloat, but this feels just so haphazard that it’s borderline ridiculous,” voiced vogue28.
Bertrando3 commented: “It feels so empty, so bland and generic. Almost AI. It’s one of these shoots without soul. Eileen Gu is physically beautiful and slender; however it gives zero energy.
The styling isn’t even bad but it’s so strange. It gives me nothing!”
