Girl Meets World Creator Made Sabrina Carpenter Cry

Methods of the Girl Meets World showrunner caused Sabrina Carpenter and Rowan Blanchard to cry. This revelation provides a rare insight into the realities of growing up on a television set. The teen coming-of-age sitcom aired on Disney Channel from 2014 to 2017.

Claims from Girl Meets World producer reveal creator made Sabrina Carpenter cry

According to Variety, a producer of Girl Meets World disclosed that the show’s creator pushed both Sabrina Carpenter and Rowan Blanchard to tears with his demanding methods on set.

This disclosure emerged as the cast of Boy Meets World shared their experiences growing up on set and the challenges they faced when transitioning to the spinoff, Girl Meets World. In the series, Rowan Blanchard portrayed the cheerful Riley Matthews, while Sabrina Carpenter took on the role of her rebellious yet fiercely loyal best friend, Maya Hart.

In Doc Meets World, a new documentary featuring Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, the trio discusses their decision to revisit the classic sitcom’s universe 14 years after the original series concluded.

During a conversation with Fishel, producer Frank Pace reflected on his collaboration with the show’s creator, Michael Jacobs. “Michael was enjoyable to work with because he was a challenge. He was also difficult for me to work with because he was a challenge. Same reason,” he stated. Pace also recalled the memorable initial table read for Girl Meets World, which he remembers vividly.

While Fishel acknowledged that she had suppressed this memory, Pace reminded her of what he claims occurred. He emphasized that she buried it because Jacobs had been “terrible.” According to him, Jacobs criticized the young cast for not meeting the legacy of the original show, resulting in both Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter being brought to tears.

Meanwhile, Strong, who directed 18 episodes, mentioned that he thrived behind the camera. However, he added, “There’s much I owe to Michael and will always cherish, but I needed to distance myself from him and let him know that I do not support his behavior.”
