Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be released soon, and the anticipation has reached new heights. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this installment for over a decade, and the limited information — just two trailers in two years — has only intensified the speculation.
With the release just months away and preorders already available, now is the time to join the GTA 6 excitement before it takes off. If you missed any significant updates, here’s everything you need to know about GTA 6 ahead of its launch.
Release Date of GTA 6
GTA 6 will be released on Thursday, November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Rockstar representatives have consistently confirmed that this November release date is final, despite ongoing concerns about potential delays. Currently, there is no confirmed release date for a PC version of GTA 6, nor for the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 port.
The November 19 date has been the official release date since last fall. Initially scheduled for release before the end of 2025, it has faced two delays: first pushed from 2025 to May 2026, and then finally set for November of this year.
Trailers for GTA 6
So far, GTA 6 has released two trailers. The first trailer appeared unexpectedly on YouTube on December 4, 2023. This trailer confirmed the series’ return to the Miami-inspired Vice City and provided our first glimpse of its updated map along with our protagonists, Lucia and Jason, alongside some hints about story elements related to trust.
This trailer also showcased a colorful array of side characters inhabiting Vice City, featured in faux social media clips throughout. It primarily served as an introduction to the world of GTA 6, while the second trailer focused more on the storyline.
The second trailer was released on May 6, 2025, following much speculation. It provided additional footage of Lucia and Jason in action and was accompanied by images and bios for some major characters in GTA 6. This trailer also confirmed the first delay, revealing the May 2026 release date.
As of now, these are all the trailers available. The cover art was teased briefly on June 18, 2026. Notably, real gameplay footage of GTA 6 has yet to be seen as of this writing.
Price of GTA 6
While initial rumors suggested that GTA 6‘s price could reach $100, preorders have confirmed the final pricing. The Standard Edition will retail for $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition will cost $99.99.
Deluxe editions of major releases often reach $100, but this price remains relatively high even as many titles trend towards $70 price points. Nintendo was a pioneer in establishing an $80 standard with its Switch 2 launch title Mario Kart World, priced at $79.99, with GTA 6 following suit.
Preorder Details for GTA 6
Preorders for GTA 6 are currently available, having started on June 25 after the cover art reveal. You can preorder either the Standard or Ultimate Edition from your preferred game retailer until November 20.

The exclusive weapon skin draws inspiration from the palm tree shirt worn by Tommy Vercetti, the protagonist of Vice City. The cosmetics reflect an ’80s aesthetic, further connecting GTA 6‘s themes to its roots.
