Demna continues to expand his vision at Gucci. Appointed creative director in March 2025, the Georgian designer unveiled his fifth collection for the historic Italian fashion house. After two lookbooks, one debut runway show, and a mega takeover of New York’s Times Square, Demna’s fully realized vision is coming to fruition. On the fourth day of Milan Fashion Week, Demna gave the fashion pack a sneak peek at his vision for Gucci boutiques across the globe. Demna turned the Gucci show space into a store, with models (including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley decked out in an oversized faux fur coat, black pencil skirt, and lace corset) strutting through the space working sequin dresses, baggy puffer jackets, high-shoulder blazers, plaid skirts, and sky-high stilettos.
Review of the Gucci Spring 2027 Collection
Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:
“A tragedy. Haven’t seen a collection so vulgar in a while. It’s not the Versace kind of tacky that you secretly wish you could pull off or that you find fun. It’s just pure vulgarity, paired with an absolute lack of vision. Just grotesque.” [Thefrenchy]
“What a pile of nothingness.” [Creative]
“If this is his complete vision, he can keep it.” [GivenchyAddict]
“This screams DSquared2.” [MyNameIs]
“Awful. I knew it was going to be another huge flop. I find this even worse than the debut show.” [FashionPower]
“What a complete tragic letdown. I think this will be his final season. Fingers crossed.” [RobAllen4599]
