There’s plenty to watch in Hazbin Hotel, even when its characters aren’t breaking into song or finding new ways to make Charlie’s job harder. Vivienne Medrano’s animated series has built a version of Hell where a character’s appearance can invite as many questions as their actual behavior. For fans trying to figure out what’s coming next, the backgrounds have become almost as interesting as the people standing in front of them. That attention to detail has helped turn the Prime Video series into a playground for theories, particularly when it comes to characters whose place in the story remains a mystery.
Medrano has given viewers plenty to speculate about, but she’s also keeping some of her biggest answers close. During an interview with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt at FanX Salt Lake, the creator offered a revealing tease about one character fans have been waiting to meet. Roo may already know far more about Hazbin Hotel’s ensemble than they realize. Addressing the eyes scattered throughout the series, Medrano explained that “the implication is that she kind of has seen everything this whole time.”
That would put Roo in an unusual position when she eventually enters the story: she’s already been watching its characters, learning about them before they have the same opportunity to understand her. She explained that there have been hints helping to set up Roo, even as the character herself remains largely under wraps. The suggestion that she has been observing everything also gives those familiar background details a more unsettling meaning.

Harry & Sally · Love & Basketball · Heated Rivalry · Titanic
Four great love stories, and four completely different ideas of what love actually is. One is a friendship that took twelve years to admit itself. One is two people who refuse to stop competing.
