The Human Centipede director has finally set a release date for his final movie. Tom Six is planning to debut his last production after facing personal and professional challenges. The director confirmed that The End of Tom Six will be independently released on YouTube on August 15 on a pay-what-you-want basis. The film will also be available on DVD.
His previous commercially released film was The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) in 2015. He made The Onania Club later, but this film never got a commercial release. As reported by Variety, the director feels his long battle to release The Onania Club largely affected his health.
A press release statement reads, “For 14 years, he lived with multiple sclerosis in complete secrecy. After the Human Centipede trilogy, he created a satirical new movie called ‘The Onania Club’ (2019). Despite glowing reviews and fans begging for its release, a film industry dominated by political correctness refused to touch it. The prolonged, extremely stressful battle accelerated his disease and totally ravaged his body up to the point that he is now nearing the end of his life.”

The End of Tom Six is very close to his heart. After his health worsened, he started recording his life in solitude in Amsterdam. He spent six years shooting the film, turning his real-life experience into his last artistic creation.
The press release adds, “For six years he has lived in total isolation, confined to darkness in his Amsterdam home, with nothing left to lose and driven by an extreme obsession to create one final time. The hilarious fever-dream-like documentary feature (with actors) is about the absurdity of existence, the film industry, his demise and the restrictions of artistic freedom. ‘The tortured artist is not a myth.’”
The movie was directed by Maartje Willems and Tom Six from Six Headquarters. The cast includes Edwin Alofs, Demian Kurosa, and Servaes Nelissen. The End of Tom Six is the director’s first movie in ten years and the last that he plans to do.
