It has been three years, but Good Omens is returning for one final miracle. The Prime Video fantasy series is set to premiere its third and final season, consisting of a single super-sized episode, this spring. We now have our first look at the show’s wayward angel-demon duo as they face the end of the world in the trailer for the third season.
In the new trailer, the angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and his enemy-turned-frenemy-turned-maybe something more, the demon Crawley (David Tennant), confront each other for the last time…with apocalyptic consequences. Aziraphale is now at the top: he has become the Supreme Archangel and is tasked with overseeing the Second Coming. Meanwhile, Crowley is engulfed in his own misery and loneliness. Can they perform one last miracle together? In addition to Sheen and Tennant, the third season will also feature Doon Mackichan as Michael, Gloria Obianyo as Uriel, Liz Carr as Saraqael, Paul Chahidi as Sandalphon, Quelin Sepulveda as Muriel, and Derek Jacobi as The Metatron; Bilal Hasna (Extraordinary) joins the cast as Jesus. The finale will be directed by Rachel Talalay (Doctor Who) and will premiere on Prime Video on May 13.
What Is ‘Good Omens’ About?
The first season of Good Omens is based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett; it details the unlikely alliance between Aziraphale and Crowley as they attempt to stop the rise of the Antichrist and prevent the scouring of Earth by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which would bring about the end of the world. The first season adapted the entire book, while the second season was solely written by Gaiman; it depicted Aziraphale and Crowley accidentally performing a miracle while in custody of the amnesiac angel Gabriel (Jon Hamm). They were compelled to conceal him from both Heaven and Hell, even as their millennia of mutual antagonism evolved into something more romantic. In the season’s closing moments, they confessed their feelings for each other…just as Aziraphale was summoned to assist in bringing about the Second Coming.
Good Omens was initially renewed for a six-episode third season, matching its predecessors. However, after Gaiman, who wrote and executive produced the series, faced multiple sexual assault accusations, he stepped down from his role on the series, leading to a reduction of the season to a single extra-long episode.
Good Omens‘ third and final season will premiere on Prime Video on May 13, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
