Isla Fisher is sharing insights about her personal life.
One year after the Confessions of a Shopaholic star finalized her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen following 13 years of marriage, she provided details about her new chapter.
“I’m much stronger than I thought I was, and I would say that my friendships, my female friendships, have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength,” Fisher exclusively told E! News at the Spa Weekend premiere in Las Vegas on Aug. 7. “I’m incredibly grateful.”
Working alongside a talented group of women—including Anna Faris, Michelle Buteau, and Leslie Mann—in the film set to release in theaters on Aug. 21 helped her feel more grounded in this new phase of her life.
“Honestly, it was so much fun,” Fisher said. “I feel like from the time we did the table read, we all just got along. I’ve known Anna for years, and Leslie and I had made a movie together, and Michelle, I was a fan from afar.”
“But we all just had a natural chemistry and we’re all girls’ girls,” she added. “So, there was a lot of support for each other and encouragement, and it was really special.”
