Jack Ryan Future Comment from John Krasinski is Exciting News

John Krasinski, who portrayed Jack Ryan in an Amazon Prime Video series and reprises the role in Ghost War, has provided an exciting update regarding his future as the CIA agent. In a recent interview, he expressed interest in continuing to portray the character in more films. Directed by Andrew Bernstein and co-written by Krasinski and Aaron Rabin, it premieres on May 20, 2026.

John Krasinski would love to do more Jack Ryan movies

Krasinski shared that although the Jack Ryan series has concluded on Amazon Prime Video, he is interested in reprising the role in future films following Ghost War.

“I would love to [continue Jack Ryan as a film series],” The Office alum told Screen Rant. He added that playing the character in a different format made him realize they could tell different stories with him. “I think we have more stories to tell,” he further stated.

Meanwhile, Andrew Bernstein was pleased to hear of Krasinski’s interest in follow-ups. He deemed the actor-filmmaker’s “ideas” for potential future installments “the most important,” even though he and everyone else also had ideas of their own.

“I think it’s super important that we have a story to tell. That’s the most important,” he added. He noted that the narrative they had, which “made sense” for both Ryan and “the world,” and which he noted “keeps changing,” was the reason they returned to the franchise and made the film in the first place. He continued, “So there are going to be great stories, and great character stories. So I think we’re all excited to jump back in and do it again.”

However, Bernstein emphasized that they aimed to ensure Ghost War’s streaming success to justify the development of more films, which he said the crew was excited about.

“One would hope [Jack Ryan continues after Ghost War]. Yeah, listen, we all loved making this movie. I think you can tell by the character interaction; they get along well in real life on the screen,” he shared. “There’s a lot more of Jack Ryan’s story to tell… And if people enjoy this movie, which we hope they will, we’re hopeful to make more of them.”

“But we have to get this one out first and then we’ll see what happens. But I know everyone’s super excited to do it again,” he continued.
