Jackass 6 Lacks Clarity Following Best & Last’s Box Office

Jackass: Best and Last is officially out in theaters now. Following the film’s box office performance, an already improbable Jackass 6 now seems all but impossible.

The latest entry in the long-running franchise once again sees members Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Danger Ehren, along with Poopies, Zach Holmes, Jasper Dolphin, and Rachel Wolfson, all back for more antics.

“Johnny Knoxville and the gang return for one final fling at the big screen. Featuring all-new stunts and stupidity along with the greatest hits and biggest laughs from the past, Jackass: Best and Last is a joyously raucous celebration of all the mischievous camaraderie that you’ve come to love and expect from these idiots over the past 25 years. So, grab your dumb little buddies, raise your glasses, and come experience the cinematic event that promises to be the last time you’ll ever laugh this hard in a theatre,” reads the film’s official synopsis.

Jackass 6 was already unlikely, but now seems impossible

Jackass: Best and Last debuted this past week to stellar reviews, but sadly that didn’t translate much to the box office. The latest entry in the iconic franchise earned just .4 million domestically and b.9 million globally, resulting in a total box office return of $10.3 million. While not that bad for a Jackass movie, it is likely projected to be the lowest return of any of the five, especially after the fourth film, Jackass: Forever, ended up making just shy of $100 million at the box office when it premiered in 2022.

With a poor box office return, the already slim odds of a Jackass 6 seem all but impossible now. Stars Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were adamant that this film would be the last, and judging by the movie, it also seems to be the case. There’s not a ton of new skits and pranks in it, with most of the action from the older cast simply being some outlandish gross-out pranks. Most reactions to the movie note that it is largely comprised of archival footage and spends time with the cast as they look back on how much they’ve grown since then.

A sixth movie could’ve likely happened with the new stars of Jackass that got brought into the fourth movie, but now, it seems unlikely. Instead, the fifth movie may just end up serving as a sweet and emotional end to the legendary show.
