Alexi Lalas made a surprising remark about James Corden.

The soccer analyst referred to the former Late Late Show host using an inappropriate term during a live pregame World Cup broadcast while attempting to promote his show After Hours with James Corden.

“What do you guys call him?” Lalas asked co-hosts Rebecca Lowe, Thierry Henry, and Zlatan Ibrahimović about the comedian on the June 12 Fox broadcast. “A full-kit w—-r, right?”

Although Lalas’ comment appeared unintentional, it certainly caught his fellow co-hosts off guard, prompting him to clarify, “He’s all dressed up and ready to go?”

Clearly surprised, Henry responded, “Did he just say that?”

Meanwhile, Lowe noted that since the vulgar term is more commonly recognized overseas, she hopes Lalas is safe with Fox executives.

“Lucky we’re on American television,” she remarked, emphasizing that the “W-word on British TV” is a significant issue.

While Corden was the target of Lalas’ joke, he has also made comments that didn’t quite resonate with audiences. After all, he stirred controversy after making an NSFW joke about legendary actress Judi Dench and renowned immunologist Anthony Fauci.
