The legendary rock band Scorpions has made the difficult decision to cancel three of their upcoming shows, as lead singer Klaus Meine is currently grappling with a serious health issue that has rendered him “unable to sing.” This unfortunate turn of events was first announced when the band canceled their performance scheduled for April 26 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At that time, the band communicated that Meine had “contracted and suspected laryngitis and is unfortunately unable to sing,” expressing deep regret to fans who were looking forward to the concert.
Shortly thereafter, on April 30, the band announced the cancellation of their show in Bogotá, Colombia, once again apologizing to their dedicated fanbase. Most recently, Scorpions canceled their highly anticipated performance on May 3 in Quito, Ecuador. In a heartfelt statement, the band conveyed that the 76-year-old vocalist “has still not recovered from the virus that forced the recent Buenos Aires and Bogotá cancellations and was diagnosed with bacterial bronchitis, which caused his unfortunate inability to sing.”

Despite these setbacks, Scorpions have two remaining dates on their Central and South American tour: May 6 in Aguascalientes and May 8 in Puebla, Mexico. Following these performances, the band will take a month-long break before resuming their tour in Europe, which is scheduled to run through the end of July. Fans in the U.S. will have to wait until August for their chance to see the iconic band live.
Facing Challenges in Scorpions’ 2025 Tour Plans
The year 2025 was initially envisioned as a momentous year for Scorpions, filled with celebrations for their 60th anniversary. However, it has turned out to be more challenging than celebratory. The band had laid out extensive touring plans to commemorate this milestone, which included a highly anticipated residency in Las Vegas that was originally set for late February into early March. Unfortunately, the residency was postponed due to drummer Mikkey Dee’s recovery from life-threatening sepsis, with the new dates now pushed to August.
In addition to these challenges, the band faced further turmoil when former guitarist Michael Schenker publicly announced that he would not rejoin the band for their milestone tour, citing an ongoing feud with his brother, current Scorpions guitarist Rudolf. Schenker’s remarks added to the tension, as he described his brother as a “crazy, weird person,” indicating a deep rift. He accused Rudolf of being “abusive” and a “bully,” creating additional drama around the band’s anniversary celebrations.
