It’s surprising that two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry missed his first chance with now-wife Ayesha Curry. During a gathering with his former youth group friend, he leaned in for a kiss, but she ducked.
Fortunately, “We had a do-over!” she shared with E! News’ Jason Kennedy in October 2017. A few years after that initial kiss in his parents’ driveway in their hometown of Charlotte, he proposed at the same location. “Yeah,” he told Parents, “it was like The Notebook.”
Months after their 2011 wedding, they learned they were expecting their first child—future press conference star Riley—which made Ayesha anxious about finding her professional path.
However, over a decade later, with three more children—daughter Ryan, born in 2015, and sons Canon and Caius, arriving in 2018 and 2024 respectively—and a thriving lifestyle empire, she has thrived. Her roles include cookbook author, Food Network personality, model, and philanthropist.
Ayesha prefers not to be labeled as just a “basketball wife.” As she wisely remarked to ABC News, “I mean, I don’t think my husband would call himself ‘chef’s wife.’
