Lil Durk Not Guilty in Murder-for-Hire Case Verdict

Lil Durk is free.

The rapper known for “All My Life” was acquitted of all charges in a murder-for-hire trial on September 11, as a Los Angeles jury concluded that the 33-year-old was not responsible for the fatal shooting of Saviay’a Robinson in 2022.

Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, had pleaded not guilty to five charges in this case, which included stalking and orchestrating a murder-for-hire.

Prosecutors claimed that Durk was “consumed with revenge” following the death of his friend King Von (real name Dayvon Bennett), who was shot and killed in Atlanta in 2020 after an altercation with associates of rapper Quando Rondo (real name Tyquian Bowman), according to The New York Times.

The prosecution alleged that Durk used “coded language” to instruct hitmen to target Rondo, stating that gunmen ambushed the “Scarred from Love” artist at a gas station near the Beverly Center shopping mall, firing at least 18 rounds from various weapons, including a machine gun, as reported by Rolling Stone.

This shooting resulted in the death of Rondo’s cousin Robinson, who was beside Rondo’s car at the gas station.
