The first teaser trailer for Marshals Season 2 reveals Kayce Dutton embracing violence to protect his legacy. CBS released the exclusive footage, showcasing intense action sequences and teasing major storylines.
What does the Marshals Season 2 trailer reveal about Kayce Dutton?
The teaser opens with a group of armed men confronting Kayce Dutton at his East Camp home. “I’ve heard stories about the Duttons,” one man tells him. Kayce responds, “The fact that you’re doing this tells me you haven’t heard them all.” He then attacks the men in a brutal sequence, showing he remains as dangerous as ever.
Additionally, Gil Birmingham’s Rainwater delivers a warning about the Dutton family’s violent path. “Nobody escapes unscathed with death and violence,” Rainwater says. Kayce accepts this reality by stating, “That’s the Dutton way.” The footage also shows Kayce on horseback, pointing a gun at a moving vehicle. The car flips dramatically through the air as he rides away with a smirk on his face.
Meanwhile, the trailer suggests Ellyn Jameson’s Dolly Weaver may not share her father’s sinister motives. She appears held at gunpoint alongside Kayce, potentially becoming a target herself. This development hints at a possible alliance between the two characters moving forward.
Furthermore, Season 1 ended on a major cliffhanger involving multiple characters in dangerous situations. Chris Mulkey’s Tom Wheeler hired gunmen who ambushed Belle and Cal in a shocking attack. Logan Marshall-Green confirmed his character Cal survives but is “not necessarily unscathed.” Arielle Kebbel also teased that Season 2 picks up directly from that tense moment.
Separately, Ash Santos promises a new side of her character Andrea in the upcoming season. “We’ll start to see a side of Andrea that’s almost opposite to how we met her in season 1,” Santos told PEOPLE.
