Mary J. Blige is not one to be trifled with. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul confronted a booing heckler during Wednesday night’s (Oct. 28) concert of her My Life, My Story Las Vegas residency.
“To the b—h that’s booing, you didn’t have to come here,” Blige said to the fan — as captured by TMZ — in the midst of her show at Sin City’s Dolby Live at Park MGM. “I hope someone sees you and politely removes you.”
The R&B icon continued to chastise the heckler and apologized to the crowd for the disruption, attributing her Yonkers roots for her response and putting an end to the nonsense.
“What the f–k did you spend your money for, idiot?” she added. “I’m sorry. Sometimes I have to go in because that’s where I’m from.”
Mary J. Blige resumed her performance as usual and continued the show as if nothing had happened. Shortly after, the 55-year-old brought out Wyclef Jean as a special guest to perform their top 40 Billboard Hot 100 hit “911.”
Blige will return to the stage on Friday (Oct. 30) with a second weekend show scheduled for Halloween at Dolby Live, which is the Grammy-winning singer’s last residency date of 2026. The My Life, My Story residency will conclude in 2027 with five dates in February.
“This residency felt like divine timing,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer stated in September when the ending of the residency was announced. “I’ve seen so many of you in Vegas and we still have 10 dates left. I feel even more grateful and deeply inspired after every show. Grab your girlfriends, your boots, and I’ll see you in Vegas in October and February.”
Blige’s last album, Gratitude, was released in November 2024. It marked her first studio LP not to make the Billboard 200.
