How Maura Higgins Established Trust with Mark Ballas After Being Betrayed by Rob Rausch on Traitors
Mark Ballas didn’t need to purchase Maura Higgins a Birkin bag to earn her trust.
Instead, the bond between a celebrity and their professional partner is woven into the essence of Dancing With the Stars—which was a significant relief for Maura after experiencing betrayal in the Traitors finale by her friend Rob Rausch.
“Do you know what?” she exclusively shared with E! News after the DWTS season 35 cast was revealed on Sept. 2. “This is actually a really nice show because I can genuinely put my trust in it. Like, I can fully trust Mark because he’s the professional.”
Though her partner—who finished sixth compared to Maura’s second place on The Traitors season four—couldn’t resist joking, “Imagine if you’d trusted me on Traitors.”
To which Maura responded, “It’s too late! It’s too late, Mark.”
And indeed, he admitted, “You might not have the Birkin.”
Overall, Maura feels relieved to be part of a show where, unlike The Traitors, they know “no one is out to get you.”
