Ty Roberts has been appointed chief commercial officer of MusiMap. Roberts co-founded Gracenote and previously served as Universal Music Group’s chief technology officer.

“From my first introduction to MusiMap, I was immediately impressed by the depth of versatility of its technology as well as its ability to understand music through emotion, context, and cultural meaning,” Roberts stated. “MusiMap has the potential to become an important intelligence layer for any business that uses music to engage audiences, from helping brands identify music that will resonate with potential customers to enabling music companies and platforms to search, organize, and recommend vast catalogs with greater precision.”

Patrick Zucchetta, chief revenue officer at MusiMap, remarked, “At MusiMap, we have spent years building technology that understands music through emotion, context, and cultural meaning. This creates powerful commercial applications such as Light On, helping them develop focused strategies that connect with consumers on an individual and emotional level. With his experience scaling music technologies and building strategic partnerships, Ty Roberts will help us bring MusiMap’s platform to organizations around the world.” — Ariel King
