The horror genre continues to thrive this year, and as we approach the spooky season, fans are eager to discover the new terrifying twists awaiting them in the fall. One upcoming horror film is Littermates, directed by Scott Tinkham and Michael Woloson. The film places two survivors in a dire situation, and Collider is excited to present an exclusive first look at the trailer ahead of its debut at Fantastic Fest. The story follows Liam (Joey Bader) and Mel (Kaylee McGregor), who find refuge in the cottage of Chester (Oliver Woolf) in the English countryside. Chester cares for them, teaching them communication, but as they challenge his rules, they begin to uncover the truth about their circumstances.

Littermates is described as follows: “As sirens, smoke, and distant threats close in, Liam and Mel navigate their days relearning basic tasks within Chester’s meticulously controlled environment, earning ‘nifties’ for good behavior that can be exchanged for small comforts like karaoke, hot tub time, dance parties, and favorite meals. However, unlike Liam, Mel is increasingly resistant to the boundaries of the cottage, feeling drawn to the woods, the locked gate, and the wider world that Chester claims is too dangerous. When Mel’s curiosity leads her to defy Chester’s rules, the delicate balance of their cottage life is disrupted, revealing the fear, loyalty, and unresolved questions that bind their makeshift family together.”

The new trailer showcases Bader and McGregor exchanging repeated apologies with flashes of scenes from the film. Viewers see a tennis court, both survivors fighting for their lives amid various shots of wilderness. Will Mel and Liam escape? How did they end up at Chester’s? All these questions linger in the trailer for Littermates, which certainly keeps viewers on edge!
