Obsession Streaming Release Date Announced for 2026 Horror Film



Focus Features has announced the streaming release date for Obsession. The acclaimed horror thriller movie has had a successful two-month theatrical run, grossing over $400 million against a budget of only $750,000. Because of this, it has become the biggest horror movie of the year so far.

“After breaking the mysterious ‘One Wish Willow’ to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price,” reads the official synopsis.

When is the streaming release date for Obsession?

Obsession will officially be available to stream on Peacock starting on July 17, 2026. The indie horror phenom from YouTuber-turned-filmmaker Curry Barker currently holds a Fresh score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 292 reviews.

The movie was written and directed by Barker, who also served as the film’s editor. The ensemble cast included Michael Johnston (Slash) as Bear, Inde Navarrette (Superman & Lois) as Nikki, Cooper Tomlinson (Treasure Trackers) as Ian, Megan Lawless (The Hate U Give) as Sarah, and Andy Richter (Elf) as Carter. The film has a total runtime of 108 minutes.

The supernatural horror was produced by James Harris for Teashop Productions, Haley Nicole Johnson for Under the Shell, Christian Mercuri for Capstone Pictures, and Roman Viaris. Executive producers were Jason Blum for Blumhouse, Leonora Darby and Mark Lane for Teashop, and David Haring and Ruzanna Kegeyan for Capstone Pictures. The creative team also consisted of cinematographer Taylor Clemons, composer Rock Burwell, production designer Vivian Gray, and costume designer Blair James.
